Lockdown readings: ‘Here’

Samuel Wright reads his short story, Here.

So you all know we don’t publish horror, right? This is as close as we get. It’s fairly horrific, but the quiet way the story is told is what matters. when this file arrived I responded to Sam immediately, saying this sounds exactly like it does in my head.

Published in Dusk, (one of our Solstice Shorts anthologies) Here was performed live, in Carlisle and Rossendale, at dusk, on 21st December 2017.

Dusk Author: Samuel Wright

Samuel Wright is a writer and teacher. He has won the Tom-Gallon Award from the Society of Authors, been long listed for the Sunday Times EFG Award and the Manchester Fiction Prize, and had his stories published by Galley Beggar Press and Tartaruga. At the moment he is Head of a new Sixth Form in Sunderland.

Samuel’s story for Dusk, Here, was performed at Carlisle and Rossendale at Dusk on the 21st December 2017 and published in the Dusk anthology on 21st June 2018
