Samantha Baines

Samantha Baines is an award-winning comedian, actress, hearing aid wearer author and broadcaster. Samantha writes critically acclaimed children’s books with deaf protagonists. Her debut, Harriet Versus the Galaxy, published by Knights Of, won the Coventry Book Inspiration Award 2021, was listed in the Best Children’s Books 2019 by the ipaper as well as the Book Trust’s Great Book Guide 2020. Samantha’s second book The Night the Moon Went Out was shortlisted in the People’s Book Prize 2021 and published by Bloomsbury. As an actor, Samantha has starred in shows like The Crown, Call the Midwife, Silent Witness and Magic Mike Live directed by Channing Tatum. She appears regularly on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio London. Samantha is also Ambassador for Royal National Institute for Deaf people.
