Malka Al-Haddad is a poet, teacher, human rights defender and academic born in Najaf, Iraq in 1970, who now lives in the United Kingdom. The author has earned her master’s degreein Arabic Literature in Iraq and she published some academic Arabic papers. her second master’s degreein Politics and international relations from the Universityof Leicester in the UK. Her poetry book Birds Without Sky has been longlisted for the Leicester Book of the Year award 2018. and sales proceeds are being donated to two charities in England. Her poem Children of War has been translated into some languages. She has received many awards from international NGOs for her actives in Iraq. A number of Malka Al-Haddad’s poems have appeared on various UK-based platforms. Malka has performed her poems to the UK Parliament and at The Southbank Centre, London. She is Poet in resident in Swindon and Lincoln.
