Joy Howard

Joy Howard, founder of Grey Hen Press, has lived all over the UK, but has now settled for Cumbria.

She has now published nine anthologies, with a tenth Out of Context (‘found’ poems) due late 2019. She is working on a second chapbook series, this time on landscape. The first, Further Than It Looks, on mountains, is now out.

Her own poems have appeared in several poetry journals, been widely anthologised and can be seen online at www.poetrypf.co.uk .  She has three collections: Exit Moonshine (Grey Hen Press 2009), Refurbishment (Ward Wood Publications 2011) and Foraging (Arachne Press 2016).

Joy’s poem for Dusk, Factory, was performed at Carlisle, Ellon and Lancaster at Dusk on the 21st December 2017 and published in the Dusk anthology.

Her poem for Time and Tide, Solstice Shorts Festival 2019, When Will We See the Sea will be performed at Peterhead and published in the Time and Tide anthology.
