Sandra A Agard

Sandra is one of our guest editors for our 2021 anthologies. She has been a Professional Storyteller, Writer, Cultural Historian, Literary Consultant, Resident Writer/Reader and Creative Writing Faciliator for over forty years.

Born in Hackney, London to Guyanese Parents; her storytelling, cultural and literary backgrounds are steeped within the African, African-Caribbean Oral and Traditions blended with the Black British perspective.

Sandra’s work has appeared in poetry and short story anthologies like Talking Blues, Watchers and Seekers and   Unheard Voices.

Her current publication is Trailblazers: Harriet Tubman – A Journey to Freedom.

She has also scripted plays that have have been performed at The Royal Court Young Peoples Theatre, Drill Hall, The Polka Children’s Theatre, Wimbledon  and Lyric Theatre Hammersmith.

In 2021and 2022 Sandra will be publishing two children’s books that examine hidden stories on Black Britain History.

Sandra has edited a number of poetry and fiction publications whilst working in libraries and the community as a Literature Development Faciliator.
