Oscar Windsor-Smith was a war-time baby, born on the Wirral, Cheshire but has lived in various places, longest in South Hertfordshire where he was a professional electrician and sometime semi-pro musician before taking up writing seriously. Graduated from Birkbeck, University of London, BA Creative Writing course in 2018.

Oscar’s story in Departures, This England, is about the Kindertransport, and was previously published in The Pygmy Giant 2014 and was runner up in Verulam Writers Crystal Decanter competition.
