Big Boxes of books are once again cluttering up our hallway – but not for long!

Outcome Launch Information

We are Launching OUTCOME: LGBT  Portraits by Tom Dingley on 10th October.

As there’s nothing particular for Tom to read as we normally would do, we are launching with an exhibition at

The Heritage Gallery 2016-08-23-14-28-38
Queen Anne Court,
University Greenwich,
Royal Naval College, Park Row
SE10 9LS
(It is a little tricky to find, but it’s the block opposite the CHAPEL going  towards the river, on your left as you come from Cutty Sark, then, inside the arched bit shown here you turn left)
Nearest station Cutty Sark (DLR) or Greenwich (Southern); loads of buses.

The University Gallery Manager, Alumni Office, IT staff, LGBT Staff Network, and Students’ Union LGBT group have all been amazingly generous with time and space and organisation and have got involved in the project with enthusiasm. We are very grateful!lgbt-uni-logolgbt-uni-logo

The exhibition will be open Monday 10th October 10-4, and Tuesday 11th (Coming Out Day) to Friday 14th 10-5. Everybody welcome, and we are encouraging school parties, so if that might apply to you get in touch!

The launch party and private view is invitation only – Contributors, Arachne Friends and Funders – you will be invited automatically; apologies to everyone else, but do please come to the exhibition, or the other events around the launch – which are…
Tuesday 11th (Coming out Day) and Thursday 13th: Outcome photographer, Tom, will be hosting pop-up studio days if you would like to be part of Outcome. If you are LGBT and would like to be photographed do get in touch to suggest a time. Each person will get 20 minutes – so please come ready to be photographed and ideally with a copy of a clear childhood photo of you) before the age of 15, and by yourself please. Book your slot by contacting Tom: @OutcomeLGBT  – or tom_dingley@hotmail.co.uk
Wednesday 12th 1-2pm a free public Q&A panel about coming out featuring contributors to the project and the Students’ Union LGBT group (we haven’t finalised who yet). We think there will be tea and biscuits after. There are other events just for staff and students.
The book will be on sale throughout the week in the Gallery (whenever we are there, which will be most of the time) and at Greenwich Waterstones, next to Cutty Sark Station. You can of course also buy it from us via our web shop

Tonight! hear about #Outcome on Resonance FM Out in South London

Tom Dingley and Cherry Potts will be on Out in South London (Resonance FM) tonight 6.30 talking about Outcome LGBT Portraits, our first photographic portrait book.

We’ve just raised the money for printing costs, and for the printing of the exhibition images, but we are still looking particularly for a few more women, and people from ethnic minorities to get involved and have their photo taken.

I'm In Outcome copy

Success!

We’ve raised (after fees) £2884 for Outcome, which should cover our printing costs for both the book and the launch exhibition.

You can see what it will look like here
We are inviting everyone who helped to show their colours:

I backed Outcome copy so if you see this on someone’s email signature or website, you’ll know they are friendly helpful kind generous people!

And everyone who is IN the book we are asking to also show their colours:

Stretching the #Outcome Crowd Fund target

6 days to go and already we’ve reached our crowd fund target. Tom (our photographer) and I have had a conversation about what we can reasonably stretch to.

SO feeling rather cheeky, but we’ve costed out printing up and mounting A1 copies of 80  for the launch exhibition, many of which would be reused in the touring exhibition.

Shockingly wide variation depending on how we approach it, but we are confident we can do it to the quality we need for £840.

Rather than just sit back we would like go all out to see if we can reach this additional target in the next 6 days!

If you would like to help us reach this further target the crowdfund is here.

Lots of treats available.

#Outcome FUNDED full £2500! & several CF days still to go

We’ve hit our Crowd Fund target!

In fact we are slightly over. And we are getting lots of responses to our call out for more women, so looks like we’ll hit that target too. We are on a roll. Watch this space for more news as we gear up for publication, and well… stuff… a bit overwhelmed with excitement just now.

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED.

You can still contribute for the next few days on kickstarter

Who is involved in Outcome?

With less than a week to go on the Crowdfund deadline, and about £250 still to raise, we’ve winkled some information out of Tom Dingley about who he has already photographed, and we have got (so far)

You can contribute to the crowd fund here – Please!! if we don’t raise all the money, we don’t get any of it.

Ten days left to raise cash for Outcome LGBT Portaits book

With ten days to go on our crowd fund for Outcome, our first non fiction title, and our first photographic book, we are at 87% of our target. If you would like to back the crowd find you can do so on Kickstarter please spread the word, we still need  £304. It’s an all or nothing crowd fund, so if we don’t meet the target we won’t get any of the money and there will be no book.

We’ll be doing a round-up of where we are with the photographs later in the week, Tom had a pop up studio at the Ku bar in Leicester Square on Friday and is planning another this Friday, probably at the same place, so if you are interested and have yet to be photographed, get in touch! Although we are aiming at 100 photos of which 80 will be int he book, the more we have the more we can choose from, and the more flexible we can be in providing tailored versions of the exhibition to galleries, libraries, museums, community centres, schools and colleges. If you run one of these and would be interested in hosting the exhibition, please get in touch.
