An Outbreak of Peace: Karen Ankers

Karen Ankers is a poet, playwright and novelist who lives in Anglesey.  Her poetry collection, One Word At A Time was published in 2017.  Her one-act plays have been performed in the UK, America, Australia and Malaysia.  Her first novel, The Crossing Place, was published in January 2018 by Stepping Stones Publishing. Dusk Performer: Karen Ankers

Karen will be reading poems and stories at Ynys Mon

Karen Ankers lives in Holyhead and has been an active member of the Ucheldre Rep for fourteen years, both as actor and director.  She is a founder member of her own award-winning company, Pakala Productions.  Her most recent role was Wendy, in Peter Quilter’s “Blind Date”.  She has portrayed a wide variety of parts and has acted in plays by Ayckbourn, Shakespeare, Priestley, and many others.  In 2009 she won the award of Best Actress at the Anglesey Drama Festival.  She also enjoys writing plays and has had work produced in the UK, USA, Australia and Malaysia.
