Time and Tide anthology crowdfund reward

Crowdfund countdown: 7 days to go!

The official launch of the Time and Tide Anthology is 21st March, but we are producing a special LIMITED edition for the festival, for the authors and for the crowdfund! At the moment it looks like there will be 250 copies, but it depends how many people choose it as their reward for supporting the crowdfund.

For those of you who like their reading electronic, an ebook will also be available, but this will be the standard edition of the book.

20 short stories and 46 poems with bonuses not included in the official version, this special edition wil not be available through bookshops.

If you would like to support our crowdfund and get a special editon, or an ebook, have a riffle through the crowdfunding site!

Another Time and Tide Crowdfund reward – CAKE

A popular reward, handmade to your specification, by Arachne editor, Cherry. Gluten free or vegan available (not sure we can manage BOTH, to be honest) as well as the full fat varieties. Often lopsided, but always tasty.

2016-11-17 12.20.58

Only available to people within easy reach of our SE London kitchen, (you wouldn’t believe the rigmarole involved in taking a cake (safely!) to Edinburgh by train…)

2019-06-19 18.54.33

Obviously you might want to just have a cake anyway (hungry?), but if you get one from us you will be supporting Time and Tide, the 2019 Solstice Shorts Festival, 6 port towns graced with historical stories, poems and music about the sea on 21st December 2019.

Time and Tide Crowdfund rewards T Shirt

Everyone (well, almost) loves a T-shirt, so we design one every year to raise funds for Solstice Shorts.

Get your limited edition Time & Tide T-shirt. We may add the Solstice Shorts logo

somewhere, but this is roughly what they will look like.

T&T tshirt

Size S-3XL, men’s cut. Tends to come up a bit small so if you don’t like figure hugging, order up a size.

We need the crowd fund – it counts towards match funding, which helps us get Arts Council (and other funding), and if we don’t get Arts Council funding, this is pretty much all we have for venues and performers and marketing.

We are crowdfunding for Solstice Shorts Noon

I hate asking people for money, but at least Crowd funding can be fun, and the generosity of our authors in coming up with novel rewards is a constant pleasure.

We hope to announce our final line up of stories and poems tomorrow, but in the mean time…

This is a fast crowd fund, less than a fortnight to go already, so please, if you are thinking of supporting this year’s Solstice Shorts, Noon, don’t dawdle! We didn’t try to get arts council funding this year (to be honest still recovering from last year’s epic fundraising) so the festival is modest, locally funded as far as possible, and short – Noon, after all, despite how long it takes a clock to strike 12, is only a second long, blink and you missed it. So please don’t blink!

Because we are on 6 sites (Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Carlisle, Ynys Mon, London and Cork) there will still be a book, which will be published on 21st March – for the spring equinox, and this is one of the rewards:

If you would like to preorder a copy of this book, or buy one of the previous solstice shorts books

head over to the crowd fund on kickstarter.

Yay! Dusk Crowd fund target hit in 2 days

Note to self: tell lots of people about a crowdfund before it goes live, because this is what happens when you do! £1063 in two days. About £150 of that will go on fees and fulfilling the rewards and postage, so we have around £900 to put into the match funding. Thank you to our fantastic backers and to all the people who volunteered their time and skills to create the rewards.

HOWEVER there are still 12 days before the Kickstarter project expires, so if you want to help get this project on the road, you can still contribute – and we would love you to, because if we don’t get the Arts Council funding, we’ll need every penny to manage a shoestring version where we pay only expenses and have to charge entry.

Of course if we do get the Arts Council funding, we will want to add an important aspect to the project, and pay the writers a ‘performance fee’, which might be a prize. We are still working out the logistics of it, but if we have enough money it is definitely an important part of what we do as a publisher trying to support writers, and an events organiser trying to promote writing. (We always pay royalties, but that is a] dependent on book sales and b] tiny when split between 20 plus contributors.)

If you are thinking about helping out I’m afraid you’ve already missed out on the original oil painting, the hand-made book workshop, the bespoke stories and the cake.

New crowd fund reward – Running before the Wind

Support our DUSK crowd fund  and get an anthology of sea poems

One of our poets, Joy Howard has offered a copy of a book she edited:
Running Before the Wind, Poems about the Sea (Grey Hen Press)

This anthology of contemporary poems covers every aspect of our sometimes conflicting relationship with the unbiddable two-thirds of our planet.

‘A wind-shaken, salt-laden, heartload of poems by women, and not a dead fish among them. I have lived within sight of the sea all my life, and this is the most enjoyable anthology I have read on this subject’. Gillian Clarke

Crowd funding for Dusk – the T-shirts

Everyone loves a t-shirt, well most people do. We are particularly proud of our latest designs available over on our rejuvenated Crowd Fund

to support this year’s Solstice Shorts Festival: Dusk

for £16 plus postage the black T, sporting our DUSK logo.

Dusk T-shirt

or for £15 plus postage, our #Arachne5 T, featuring all 18 of our books so far, arranged into a no-nonsense ‘5‘.

Both these T shirts come up a little small compared to your average T, so order a size larger than normal to be on the safe size. Black in S-XXL, White in S-XXXL
