Rebecca Askew
Rebecca Askew is a performer and composer with a background in jazz and improvised music; she studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. 
 
As both a soloist and an ensemble musician, she performs in venues large and small, including ​Shakespeare’s Globe, the National Theatre and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.
As a composer and bandleader, she has toured her music to venues and festivals around the UK and abroad, including the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Linbury Theatre (Royal Opera House). She receives commissions for her work and has written many choral pieces mainly for the  woodland choir that she runs, Whispering Woods.

Rebecca has composed a setting for choir, of our source poem, Tymes goe by Turnes for the 2020 Solstice Shorts Festival. Rebecca is collecting and collating contributions from singers all over the country (including someone at Arachne) to create a video rendition of her song. We hope she will also be with us live to introduce it.
