July happenings

Arachne will be trundling about this month – founder Cherry Potts is speaking at St Leonard’s Salon on 20th July (That’s St Leonard’s near Hastings) south coast friends, and anyone who’d like a trip to the seaside, it would be lovely to see you! Alix Adams will be there too, helping to read extracts from various books.

On the 26th we are at Bookwood pop-up book fair along with lots of other small indie publishers, at Netil Market in Westwood Street E8 (Near Broadway Market). It’s handy for the Overground, so we are hoping for fine weather and are in discussion as to whether there is somewhere practical for Stations authors Bartle Sawbridge, Rosalind Stopps and Wendy Gill to read to you. We hope so, as it will be very close to Arachne’s 3rd birthday, and we like to celebrate in style! Come along for special birthday offers, and signed copies.

Heading North – Eclectic Iron festival Cullercoats

Arachne are going North once more, this time to Cullercoats close to Newcastle, but it’s seaside again. We aren’t performing this time, just taking part in the Inpress Bookfair on Saturday 6th June at the Eclectic Iron festival. Come along and say hello, and buy a book or three, we always have special deals when we sell face to face.

Eclectic IRON, a Seaside Festival of Words, Music & Oddities.

It looks a lot of fun, and there’s plenty of music too, so I’m hoping we’ll have time to take part in some of the events as audience – we’ve booked tickets for the Limerick session (Arachne author Rob Walton, who is also published by Iron Press, the founders of the feast, is reading at that) and the Anne Cleeves talk, the rest we’ll take on as the mood takes us.

Arachne Author Emily Cleaver is one of the performers  in the afternoon, reading from London Lies, and if we WIN we’ll be reading a snippet of something (she says, mentally reviewing the time scales for rehearsing that) from Award short-listed Weird Lies

You can also come and hear readings from Award short-listed Weird Lies (I get a warm happy feeling every time I type that) and Lovers’ Lies at our BrockleyMax event, Other Worlds the following day, Sunday 1st June 7pm at Misty Moon
