The Mountain Centre

K S Moore says of her A470 poem, More than Winter:

When I was around 12 or 13 years old, we were on the way back from The Mountain Centre in the Brecon Beacons when Dad spotted a waterfall and suggested that I stand beside it for a photograph. I wasn’t keen to get out of the car, as it was such a cold day, but when I did, there was something about the movement of the water and the chill air that energized me. The moment was captured in a photograph and later became the poem: ‘More than Winter’.

Pan oeddwn i tua 12 neu 13 oed a ninnau ar ein ffordd adref o’r Ganolfan Fynydda ar Fannau Brycheiniog gwelodd fy nhad raeadr ac awgrymu fy mod yn sefyll wrth ei ymyl i gael tynnu fy llun. Doeddwn i ddim yn awyddus iawn i ddod allan o’r car gan ei fod yn ddiwrnod mor oer, ond wedi i mi wneud roedd yna rywbeth ynglŷn â’r dŵr yn symud ac oerni’r awyr roddodd egni i mi. Daliwyd yr eiliad mewn ffotograff ac wedyn datblygodd yn gerdd: ‘Gaeaf a Mwy’.
