Poet Eabhan Ní Shuileabháin says of her A470 poem Storm Journey
My poem describes the journey from my living room couch to the summit of Cadair Idris, via a stormy night drive down the A470. I think that stretch of the road that curves around the hills past Dolgellau is a wonderful stretch; furthermore, the Cross Foxes restaurant and the turn there off the A470 and onto the A487 are very recognizable for people.
Mae fy ngherdd yn disgrifio’r daith o’r soffa yn fy ystafell fyw i gopa Cader Idris, yn gyrru ar hyd yr A470 ar noson stormus. Rwyf wrth fy modd gyda’r darn o’r ffordd sydd yn gwau heibio’r bryniau ger Dolgellau; ac yn ogystal mae tafarn y Cross Foxes a’r troad yno oddi ar yr A470 yn adnabyddus iawn i lawer o bobl.
