Brecon Beacons

Poet Mari George says of her A470 poem, Snow on the Beacons/Eira ar y Bannau

I wrote about an argument between two people as they travelled through the Brecon Beacons in the snow and having to stop the car. The snow is a backdrop as well as a metaphor for the silence between them. This is a spot close to my heart as we travelled early on Boxing Day one year and there was snow on the ground. It was beautiful but eerie.

Mae’r gerdd am ddadl rhwng dau wrth iddyn nhw deithio trwy eira ar y Bannau a gorfod stopio’r car. Mae’r eira’n gefnlen i’r gerdd ac yn drosiad o’r tawelwch rhyngddynt. Mae’r llecyn yn agos at fy nhgalon gan i ni deithio i fyny ar ddydd San Steffan rhyw flwyddyn ac roedd eira wedi disgyn. Roedd hi’n hyfryd ond iasol.
