A departure for Arachne Press, our first book of photographs.

Photographer Tom Dingley started his #Outcome project a couple of years ago, in response to his concern at the lack of positive role models for young people on the cusp of coming out. He decided to photograph LGBT people with the attributes of their everyday life – their work, or their interests; and holding a picture of themselves as a child. The message is, no matter how hard it is growing up, no matter who you were, you become who you become, and you are amazing.
Arachne Press were quietly helping, finding venues for exhibitions and subjects to be photographed, then we set Tom a challenge – 100 photographs 50% women, 20% ethnic minority and as many Transfolk as were willing to get involved, and we’d do a book. Tom hit that target, and the book was published on 10th October just in time for International Coming Out Day.
