Bobbie Darbyshire

Bobbie Darbyshire has worked as barmaid, mushroom picker, film extra, maths coach, cabinet minister’s private secretary, volunteer adult-literacy teacher and care assistant, as well as in social research and policy. Her debut novel Truth Games was published in 2009, followed by Love, Revenge & Buttered Scones in 2010, which was longlisted for the 2011 International Rubery Book Award. Bobbie won the 2008 Fiction Prize at the National Academy of Writing. Her piece Beads on a String won the New Delta Review Creative Nonfiction Prize 2010. Other published stories: Unwrapped (Ada and more Nano-Fiction, Leaf Books, 2009), Cartwheels (Mslexia, No 10, Summer/Autumn 2001).
