Nicola Reed has been a singer forever, a musician for a while and is still learning to be a poet.
She has played in folk clubs and festivals all over northern England and has been so lucky to have worked with people she considers to be wonderful poets and musicians and knows to be friends.
Nicola has performed support sessions for musicians such as Steeleye Span, Boo Hewerdine and Eddi Reader and produced an album called Westward Turning with Fellside Records in 2001, with her friend and wonderful fretless bass player Mike France.
Lately she has been writing as much poetry as songs and performs regularly at Carlisle Speakeasy.
Nicola’s song for DUSK, Witching Hour willl be performed at Carlisle, and is about that time just before it is dark when shapes shift and you are filled with a wonderful energy and desire to ‘run wild through the fields’.
