Karen Ankers

Karen Ankers is a poet, playwright and novelist based in Anglesey, where she is studying for a PhD in Creative Writing at Bangor University. She has worked with Voluntary Arts Wales and is currently editing a poetry anthology which aims to raise awareness of a local environmental issue.

Karen’s poetry has been published in various anthologies and magazines, including Black Bough, Red Poets, and Mslexia.  Karen’s poetry collection, One Word At A Time, was published in 2017 and she has had plays published by Lazybee Scripts, performed in the UK, USA, Australia and Malaysia.  Her novel, The Crossing Place, published in 2018.

Arachne have published Karen’s fiction and poetry in our An Outbreak of Peace anthology, and our Solstice Shorts anthologies Noon and Tymes goe by TurnesKaren’s poem Icarus is published in our 2021 Solstice Shorts anthology, Words From the Brink.
